In the Fall of 2016, Prince Edward County fine art photographer, Tara Wilkinson held the first of several exhibitions titled "AMORE".
The "AMORE" exhibitions celebrated not only her love of photography, but also her love of Italy’s astounding beauty, culture and people.
In 2017, the "AMORE" exhibition was part of the Scotiabank CONTACT Photography Festival in Toronto.
CONTACT is the largest annual photography event in the world with over 1500 artists in 200 exhibitions, public installations and events running throughout the month of May across the city.
From documentary explorations of the nation’s shifting landscape and inhabitants, to projects that challenge perceptions of history and definitions of photography, CONTACT presents outstanding projects by established and emerging Canadian photographers and curators.
Tara's "AMORE" exhibition was held at the Joseph D. Carrier Gallery in the Columbus Centre on Lawrence Ave. E. (at Dufferin) from May 4th to June 5th, 2017. The Opening Night Reception was held on May 4th, 2017. The exhibition was curated by Rosa Graci. For each of the major works in the show, Tara wrote a “Love Story” about the image. The words and images combined to take the viewer on a journey to the heart and soul of ordinary moments.
On Opening Night, Tara signed copies of her first coffee table book, “AMORE”.
This limited edition, layflat hardcover book is 11" x 14" with 50 pages of photographs and "love stories", and embossed hard case slipcover is available for purchase. Contact ANDARA Gallery for details.
